Latest addition to the hall of fame. When in Paris, what other sneaker is more appropriate than Nike’s Centre Pompidou inspired Air Max 1… Well, any excuse is good enough to score yet another colourway of my favorite shoe. Really happy with this tasty black/white/spice affair.

Some of you may know me in real life and will know me as an avid sneaker collector. My favorite pair of kicks is Nike’s classic Air Max 1, Tinker Hatfield’s Pompidou-inspired runner from ’87 with its timeless silhouette and numerous colorways. The first one with the visible Air bubble. So when someone goes out of his way to dedicate his time to celebrate the aforementioned shoe, I’m interested. Well, Matt Stevens did just that and made an AM1-inspired artwork every day for a month. The results are to be found on his website and you can see a couple of them below:


Nike 78 project

The pic of the knitted Nikes in the previous post is This Is Studio’s contribution to the Nike78 project. The project combines my love for Nike shoes and creativity, so you know I had to feature it: NIKE78 is an exciting new project created by Paul Jenkins and inspired by Nike. Creatives involved received a brand new pair of Nike shoes and were asked to use sport as inspiration to challenge their function. You can find the result on
