Apologies for the lack of updates on the blog lately. Things have been absolutely crazy at the HQ! Decided to go on a little no-phone no-internet trip to the beach for a week only to find my inbox inundated with pre-orders. If you managed to get on the pre-order list, congrats! you should’ve received an e-mail asking for your contact details. Get back to me asap! I will hold all pre-ordered T-shirts until july 31st only! All unsold t-shirts will go up on the shop on august 1st! So even if you missed the pre-orders, you might still have a chance to pick one up in your size.

The thing is, I didn’t even get a chance to get the product shots done… until this morning that is. So here are some detailed pics of the collab tee for those who are into that:

Thanks to Julien @ Laid Back for the collab, Pieter @ POSTRmag for hooking me up with one of the best things in life that do come for free, Sofie, Mum for helping me out and of course everyone who pre-ordered and those who will buy the remaining ones! That’s a given, haha!

One of my favorite records out at the moment is without a shadow of a doubt Actress’ incredibly versatile sophomore album Splazsh. After Hazyville cemented his name back in 2008, expectations were high for his next effort. He went ahead and raised the bar for himself with this follow up. An intricate slice of electronica that’s impossible to label. Dubglitchdiscofunkwhatever, call it what you want, but once you push play you’ll find yourself drifting away to the ambient sounds of The Hubble which prepares you for Lost, a hypnotizing affair that rides along nicely for 6 minutes before dropping you off to the lush garden-of-eden atmospherics of Futureproofing. Bubble Butts and Equations unleashes a baseline that haunts for days and Always Human cuts up a vocal to great effect. Next is Get Ohn followed by Maze, an updated Moroder-baseline that’s as addictive as it is mesmerizing. Purrple Splazsh makes you snap out of whatever you were on and sets the tempo for the next minutes after which you’re left with the post-house moanfest that is Senorita. Gear up for Let’s Fly before exploring dubstep territory with Wrong Potion. Before signing off with Casanova, Supreme Cunnilingus glitches and clicks its way to The Kettle Men: sci-fi funk that takes no prisoners… Treat yourself to the sounds of now and get your copy here or wherever you feel fit! Limited Addiction gives it two thumbs up!

The creative masterminds at Toykyo produced yet another amazing sculpture! This time Craig ‘Rinzen’ Redman’s Darcel character was given the good old Benji treatment. The “Have A Crap Day” edition is a unique, one-of-a-kind full sized one-eyed monster made from fibreglass. If you want to see it in person, you better hop on that TGV to Paris as it’s currently on display at  the trendier-than-thou Colette shop where it’s part of the Redman exhibition named ‘And a miserable day to you too’ – An exhibition of paintings, prints, sculpture, animation and blogging…

A smaller version is limited to 9 pieces and goes by the name of “Summer In NY Is Fucked”

Hats off to Benji for yet another masterpiece!

Another one of Lefto’s video impressions. Some nice footage, edited to the sounds of George Fitzgerald with a tune called Weakness out on HotFlush, of his time spent at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Festival in sunny Sete. Here’s what he had to say about it himself:

Wow, festival is going hard this year, great deejays, great performances, cancellations, fun and a lot of sun and fish. Arrived on the same plane as Mala, great guy and a nice deep (mehdi) set at the St.Christ. Gil Scott-Heron didn’t make it but Foreign Beggars did a hell of a show, people were going nuts, moshpit style. Floating Points & Fatima were on point as usual, I love when Sam drops the heavy joints, to start with Detroit Experiment, that’s always a good way to start the show… On the beach day after, nice selections by Fuzati & Ouifonk and I replaced Sbtrkt @ the beach (he would do his set at night) and cool Simbad joined me on the turntables for a nice set as well as Theophilus London… ended the set with jungle bangers. At night it was time to visit the beautiful Thêatre de la Mer again, with the Havana Cultura Band & l’Orchestre Poly-Rhytmo de Cotonou from Benin. Both sets were great and an amazing end by Poly-Rhytmo in the rain… and so was I with Simbad in the rain walking to the St.Christ to witness Grfld, Theophilus London, Gaslampkiller & Gonjasufi.. Flylo cancelled and Joy Orbison did the same… so we had Sbtrkt & Sampha and Laurent Garnier on the set. Theophilus’ new joints were amazing, can’t wait to hear the whole thing man… Garfield always on point, Gaslampkiller & Gonjasufi were special, strange and powerful…but I heard the sound wasn’t that good in the front, bummer. Laurent took over, decided to leave to edit this video for you guys… Day 3 today… let’s see!!!!!
