I want to do more than talk tees on my blog so I’ll use this space to put a spotlight on artists from various fields that I’m feeling. Today’s Man Of The Moment is Julio Bashmore. This young Bristolian has been making serious waves the last couple of months and more and more dj’s from the dubstep, funky and house scenes have been battering the sounds of young Julio. I first heard his Um Bongo’s Revenge track last year and then ran into his World Peace tune on the Claude Von Stroke Fact mix and they both blew me away, he’s also had a track, titled The Moth featured on Fabric’s excellent Elevator Music compilation alongside other new school heroes Untold and Martyn and recently Vice magazine jumped the bandwagon and had Mr Bashmore make them a mixtape. Lately, a wicked remix for Delphic’s epic Halcyon has been doing the rounds as well. The hype is well deserved to say the least, as I have yet to hear a bad tune from the man. If you don’t know what i’m on about and if you haven’t heard his offerings I suggest you listen to the Fact mini mix he did a while ago as most essential Bashmore choons are included and it’s a nice little mix to boot.
